Church at the Bar is a real church with real people that meets Wednesday nights at Brewskeez in O'Fallon. No dress code. No pressure. No pretending. Just people figuring out life and faith together, some with a beer in hand, some with a sweet tea.
YES, IT'S REALLY IN A BAR.
Yep. Church. In a bar. During business hours. With patrons present.
That's not a gimmick, it's the whole point.

Jesus didn't wait for people to clean themselves up and find Him in a building. He went to where people already were, dinner tables, wells, boats, and yes, places where the religious folks raised their eyebrows. We figure if it was good enough for Him, a bar in O'Fallon works just fine for us.
So on Wednesday nights, the TVs stay on at Brewskeez, the kitchen keeps cooking, and somewhere in the middle of it, church happens. Regulars sometimes wander over and stay. That might be the best part.
QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK
The things people actually wonder before showing up for the first time.
Nope. Plenty of people order a soda, a coffee, or nothing at all. This is church at a bar, not church about the bar.
Yes. That's kind of the point of meeting here.
Whatever you're already wearing. Work boots, scrubs, a hoodie, you'll fit right in.
No. Nobody will make you pray out loud, raise your hand, or introduce yourself to the room. You can just sit and listen for as long as you want.
It's welcome here. Honest questions get honest conversations, not canned answers or a lecture.
Then you're exactly who this was started for. You won't be the only one, we promise.
Absolutely. Brewskeez is a family-friendly spot and kids are welcome. It's a bar with a restaurant, not a nightclub.
Church at the Bar is a ministry of Joy Community Church in O'Fallon, MO. We're just a church that decided the people who'd never walk into our building still deserve a seat at a table. If you'd rather check out a Sunday-style service, you're welcome there too, Saturdays at 5:00 and Sundays at 9:30, in person or streamed live on Facebook.
WHY WE DO THIS
"We started Church at the Bar because the people who'd never walk into our building on a Sunday morning still deserve a seat at a table. The first night we met at Brewskeez, a regular wandered over from the bar, pulled up a chair, and stayed for the whole thing. It was the first time anyone had ever brought a message about Jesus to where he already was. He's the person we keep thinking about. He's why we're still here every Wednesday."
